St Austell Brewery is delighted to be supporting this year's Food and
Drink Festival as a major sponsor. As a local family firm, we are immensely proud of the
major developments in Cornwall's food and catering industries over
recent years and the world class standards being set by food and drink
producers, chefs and retailers in the County.
More and more customers are seeking high quality locally sourced produce
and Cornwall is well placed to meet this growing demand with its
excellent food and drink.
The popularity of local produce is reflected in the sales of St Austell
Brewery's cask ales which continue to break records year on year. Please
drop into the St Austell Brewery stand which will be offering samples
and off sales throughout the festival. Also if you want to learn more
about the brewing process and to see our beers being created, you are
welcome to come to the St Austell Brewery Visitor Centre at the Brewery
which is open throughout the year.
The pub trade has undergone a revolution over the past decade with good
value, high quality food becoming a crucial part of the customer
experience in most successful Cornish pubs. This trend has been
accelerated by the smoking ban with more and more St Austell Brewery
pubs now offering tempting locally sourced fresh food all served in a
welcoming smoke free environment. St Austell Brewery's efforts in this
area were recognised in November last year when we were awarded Pub
Company of the Year at the Publican Food Awards in London.
During the festival you will have the chance to see demonstrations and
taste the food of Paul Drye, St Austell Brewery's award winning Catering
Development Manager as well as Anthony Proffitt, Head Chef at the Great
Western Hotel in Newquay.
St Austell Brewery is well known for its beers and pubs but we are also
a successful wine merchants supplying fine wines to many of the South
West's top restaurants and hotels through our Walter Hicks business. We
are pleased to be supplying all the wines at this year's festival and
hope you will have the chance to try some over the three days.
