Trevaskis Farm
A gem of a foodie place, this small west Cornwall farm combines restaurant, shop, pick-your-own and educational project. Most of the 80 types of fruit, vegetables, salads and herbs grown on the farm go straight into the restaurant or shop, or can be picked to take home. The restaurant’s daily - changing special menu features Trevaskis beef and pork and what can’t be found on the home farm comes from other local growers and producers.

The Cheese Shop
Beloved by locals and visitors alike, this unique shop is under new ownership. Cornwall’s renowned cheesemonger, Stephen Gunn, is off to France to work with local cheese makers and perhaps produce his own. But new proprietors Pam and Graham Cotgreave from Looe are following in Stephen’s footsteps by continuing to sell only the finest artisan-produced cheeses. Watch out for two new local cheeses that will be launched at this year’s Cornwall Food and Drink Festival.

Skinner’s
If you agree with this New World brewery (producing 10,000 galls a week of ales relying more on hop flavours and aromas and less on malt) that ‘Cornish food deserves Cornish beer’, look out for its Betty Stogs or Cornish Knocker to name just two of its beers brewed using grain grown exclusively on three local farms and malted in Newton Abbot.
