Celebrating the very best of Cornish food and drink

The Big Brunch Challenge takes place on Sunday morning between two specially selected teams. Live on Radio Cornwall, two teams of Cornish Scouts, along with the chefs from Fifteen Cornwall, will compete to produce the ultimate Cornish Brunch. Guaranteed to be full of surprises and samples with audience support essential...

Launching the Year of Food and Farming this September, Cornwall Women’s Food and Farming Union have challenged two Cornish Scout troops along with trainee chefs from Fifteen Cornwall to rustle up a hearty locally sourced brunch.

The Scouts, currently celebrating 100 years of scouting, prepared for their challenge by visiting Carruan Farm, Polzeath, to source their ingredients with help from Fifteen Cornwall head chefs, two of their trainee chefs and farmer Mike Parnell. Mike gave them a tour of the farm, kitchen and farm shop and ideas for their brunch meal.

The cook-off begins at 10am on Sunday as the Scouts compete over a hot stove, with Neil, Mike and the trainee chefs at hand, to create the dishes developed at Carruan Farm. To add to the excitement Radio Cornwall is covering the challenge live during its Sunday morning show.

The lucky audience can then judge both dishes and vote for the winner, based on the creativity of dish, presentation and of course, taste.

Don’t miss out on your chance to be part of this thrilling cook-off. Join us in the demonstration area of the Cornwall Food andDrink marquee at 10am
and ‘be prepared’ for a culinary delight.
